When that income stops, everything a family planned stops with it. factfind360 is how this branch makes sure no one is guessed at: the family’s need priced in dollars while you talk, a written reason for every recommendation, and a manager’s signature on the file before anything reaches the client — exactly the standard the Insurance Act, 2018 sets for every advisor in the country.
Not projections. Fact finds completed, the protection gap they documented, and what the clients went on to take. These update themselves — read live from the branch.
A fact find done properly is not paperwork. It is the moment a family’s real position gets written down — and it protects every person it touches.
The need is worked out in front of you, in dollars — income replacement, the children’s education, the mortgage, retirement. Every recommendation carries a written reason in your terms, you confirm the record from your own email, and nothing is final until a senior manager has reviewed and signed it. A second pair of eyes, on your behalf, on every single case.
One guided journey instead of a stack of forms: the maths runs while you talk, checks name whatever is missing before it matters, and the file that leaves carries the reason, the signature and the timestamp. The best defence an advisor can have is a fact find that stands up — and this one is built to be inspected.
The Insurance Act, 2018 asks that a formal fact find be taken, retained and available for inspection. Every case here is timestamped, signed, and answerable — the need found, the product matched to it, the reason on record. Not a filing cabinet. A system of evidence.
A policy is not a transaction that ends at a signature. The fact find opens a file that stays alive for as long as the client does — and the system walks every step of it.
The whole of Guardian’s Confidential Fact Find, captured as a conversation. The family, the money, the need — priced while you talk.
Every case goes to the advisor’s own manager: four attestations — data, affordability, suitability, compliance — and a signature that goes onto the fact find itself. Sent back? The advisor fixes it inside the email and the manager is told the moment it returns.
A plain-English copy lands in the client’s inbox. They confirm it is right — or ask for a change — with one tap, and they can see exactly where their case stands across all six stages.
The client hears the good news the moment it is signed, rates the service, and the branch tracks the case to policy delivered — with reminders that do not forget.
As the client’s age changes, the file wakes up on its own: an annual review invitation to the client, the advisor kept in the loop, the cover checked against the life it protects. Because the need at 35 is not the need at 55 — and a promise made once deserves to be kept current.
For as long as anyone can remember, a sales manager managed effort. How many calls were made. How many contacts. How many appointments booked. Count the activity, and hope the outcome follows. This branch manages the fact find instead — the work itself, which can be read, checked, coached and signed.
A coaching session used to be an opinion about effort. Now the manager and the advisor open the same file.
Schedule 11 does not ask for a fact find as good practice. It asks for one as a standard of market conduct — taken, retained, and produced on inspection. Page one of every printed fact find carries the words. What changed is that the branch can now produce the evidence for any case, in seconds, without opening a filing cabinet.
The insurance intermediary or officer should be required to obtain sufficient information about the consumer to ensure an appropriate product is offered. Formal “fact finds” should be specified for long-term savings and investment products and they should be retained and be available for inspection for a reasonable number of years.
| “sufficient information about the consumer” | Guardian’s Confidential Fact Find V3 in full — eleven sections, with live checks naming whatever is still missing |
| “to ensure an appropriate product is offered” | Every recommendation recorded against the need it answers, with a written reason. A case cannot be approved without one |
| “formal fact finds should be specified” | The company’s own form, section for section — nothing invented, nothing left out |
| “retained and available for inspection” | Every case timestamped and kept: the file, the client’s own confirmation, the manager’s four attestations and their signature |
| “best suited … given their needs, financial capability, risk profile and specific circumstances” — Market Conduct Guideline | The need priced, the premium tested against the client’s actual monthly surplus, and a manager attesting to affordability before anything leaves the branch |
Written for one branch. But the obligation belongs to every one of them, and so does the answer.

Thirty-five years in the industry. Two of them at ALGICO — American Life and General Insurance Company — where it started, and thirty-three since with Guardian Life of the Caribbean.
factfind360 was conceived, designed and driven from inside the Ricky Rampersad Branch. It is those years of sitting in living rooms — knowing which question to ask, which number a family will actually have to find, and what a recommendation has to be able to stand behind — written down so that no agent has to learn it the hard way.
Thirteen of those years were spent qualifying at Court of the Table or above — the levels MDRT reserves for three and six times its own production requirement, the most recent of them last year. The judgement written into this system is not theoretical, and it is not historical either.
A fact find is not this branch’s invention — it is what the Insurance Act asks of every advisor, for every long-term product, everywhere in Trinidad & Tobago. The difference here is that it actually happens, on every case, with the evidence to show for it.
Ask your advisor when your fact find was last done — and who signed it. If the answer is a shrug, come and sit with a branch where the answer is on file. The conversation costs nothing, and you leave knowing your numbers.
